Source-to-claim audit · revision register

Source first. Status explicit. Conclusions contestable.

This private preview separates binding text, commencement records, official guidance and editorial analysis so a reader can inspect where each proposition comes from.

Trust boundary

Repository review is not legal approval.

Automated checks can prove coverage, references and interface behavior. They cannot supply professional judgment, verified authorship or publication authority.

Human review required

The publication protocol

Four gates from proposition to revision.

Each gate leaves an inspectable record. Passing one gate never substitutes for the next.

  1. 01Locate the claim

Name the exact proposition and the route where a reader encounters it.

  2. 02Resolve source and status

Attach the controlling record, pinpoint, date and evidential classification.

  3. 03State the boundary

Say what the record establishes and what remains unknown, future or editorial.

  4. 04Record the revision

Preserve what changed, why, source impact and unresolved human review.

Five controls · five failure modes

Inspect the control, not just the promise.

The reading lenses change focus only. They do not approve a page, alter legal status or hide records from the static document.

All five editorial controls shown. No approval is calculated.
CONTROL01

Source hierarchy

Primary text controls the legal proposition.

Binding legal claims point to the controlling law, regulation or commencement notification. Official explainers can add context but do not override the Gazette or statute.

Control layerSource hierarchyEditorial control
Question the publication must answer

Which exact legal proposition is being made, and which controlling record and pinpoint establish it on the stated editorial as-of date?

Required control
Resolve the proposition to a local source ID, inspect source type and legal status, and prefer the controlling text over summaries or press language.
Failure mode
A press explainer, search result or translation silently becomes the only basis for an in-force claim even though a controlling legal text is available.
Current evidence
The 15-record source ledger, source drawer and app-local content references.
CONTROL02

Claim & status

Legal status belongs inside the claim.

Publication, commencement, institution building, official guidance and observed implementation are different records. A status badge cannot repair copy that collapses those distinctions.

Control layerClaim and statusEnforced product boundary
Question the publication must answer

Does the sentence itself state what is enacted, operative, future-dated, explanatory or merely an implementation indicator without relying on nearby decoration?

Required control
Map the claim to the legal-status taxonomy, keep phased dates explicit and write the evidential boundary into the proposition, caption or non-finding.
Failure mode
A reader can reasonably interpret a notified future provision, institutional process or intended interface as a currently operative duty or live service.
Current evidence
Legal-status definitions, exact India commencement cohorts and source calculation bases.
CONTROL03

Revision history

Every article keeps its change record attached.

A review date says when a page was checked, not what changed. Each article now records a dated summary, reason, claim impact, source impact and remaining review state.

Control layerRevision historyRepository-enforced control
Question the publication must answer

Can a reader identify the material revision, understand why it was made and see whether it changed a legal proposition, method, interface or trust policy?

Required control
Require one app-local route record for every article, unique change IDs, valid dates and source references, then render the latest entry on the article itself.
Failure mode
A material revision overwrites the visible page while its reason, source impact or unresolved review requirement disappears from the publication history.
Current evidence
Article changelog version 1 and the revision record attached automatically to every article route.
What would fail this control

An article route lacks a record, a source reference is unresolved or the displayed entry diverges from the app-local register.

Next publication milestone

Human editorial ownership of future entries and a public release policy for retaining superseded text.

Editorial control · no legal proposition added
CONTROL04

Correction gate

A correction preserves the error and its source basis.

A future public correction must record the affected proposition, original error, corrected text, reason, source basis and date rather than silently replacing history.

Control layerCorrection gateGated publication policy
Question the publication must answer

Would a reader be able to reconstruct what was wrong, what changed, why the correction was necessary and which controlling record supports the replacement?

Required control
Keep correction entries dated and append-only in editorial practice, link them to affected article records and separate factual correction from method or presentation revision.
Failure mode
The interface shows only corrected text, erases the prior error or routes feedback into an unowned channel with no retention and response policy.
Current evidence
Current correction policy and article-level revision schema; no public correction channel is enabled in this preview.
What would fail this control

The change model cannot preserve an honest correction trail or a future intake route collects personal data without an approved owner and retention policy.

Next publication milestone

Approve a human-owned correction channel, response standard and retention schedule before public release.

Editorial control · no legal proposition added
CONTROL05

Human accountability

Neutral authorship prevents invented authority.

The byline remains DPDP Editorial Desk. The preview claims no expert credential, government affiliation, accreditation, legal representation or endorsement.

Control layerHuman accountabilityCurrent disclosure
Question the publication must answer

Who is accountable for editorial and legal review, and can that identity and role be verified without implying qualifications or affiliations that were not supplied?

Required control
Use the neutral organisational byline, disclose required human review and withhold named expertise until an approved profile and review policy are verified.
Failure mode
Design polish, an institutional-sounding byline or automated revision metadata implies expert sign-off, government association or professional legal review.
Current evidence
No verified author or reviewer profile has been supplied; every substantive change remains marked for human review.
What would fail this control

A verified author, qualified reviewer and approved publication policy are supplied and formally adopted for the relevant records.

Next publication milestone

Named human editorial and legal review before any public release.

Editorial control · no legal proposition added

/case-for-dpdp1 entry · Legal or editorial substance changedThe strongest case for DPDP
Latest · Legal or editorial substance changedCASE-FOR-20260826-01

Replaced the generic positive essay with four conditional claims, evidence horizons, proof standards and paired objections.

Reason
The positive thesis needed the same inspectable burden of proof as the strongest counterargument.
Claim impact
No winner or deployability conclusion was added; the revision makes dependencies and failure conditions more explicit.

/case-against1 entry · Legal or editorial substance changedThe strongest case against calling DPDP best
Latest · Legal or editorial substance changedCASE-AGAINST-20260826-01

Expanded five objections with answer standards, false comforts, claim boundaries and evidence that would narrow each objection.

Reason
A defensible editorial thesis must retain its strongest good-faith challenge and show what could answer it.
Claim impact
The revision withholds a jurisdiction verdict and separates legal status, institutional performance, interpretation, rights and scope questions.

Latest · Legal or editorial substance changedSCALE-20260826-01

Turned five propositions into a progressive evidence story with research questions, test methods, boundaries and qualitative confidence.

Reason
Population and market scale must remain hypotheses to test rather than unsupported proof of leadership or exportability.
Claim impact
No scale statistic or leadership conclusion was introduced; every proposition retains an explicit falsifier and next milestone.

Latest · Legal or editorial substance changedCONSENT-20260826-01

Separated enacted architecture, future commencement and implementation evidence across three falsifiable research records.

Reason
A registered-intermediary concept and future-dated Rule cannot be presented as a live provider network or interoperable service.
Claim impact
The revision strengthens the no-live-capability boundary and labels official explanatory context separately from controlling commencement records.

/digital-office1 entry · Legal or editorial substance changedDigital office institution watch
Latest · Legal or editorial substance changedOFFICE-20260826-01

Separated Board establishment, institution building, future powers and observable service evidence into four inspectable layers.

Reason
An operative digital-office rule, a recruitment circular and an accessible public service are different evidential propositions.
Claim impact
The revision adds G.S.R. 844(E) and the May 2026 appointment-process record while withholding any live-service or completed-capacity finding.

Latest · Publication, privacy, correction, accessibility or use policy changedEDITORIAL-METHOD-20260826-01

Introduced a source-to-claim publication audit and a complete app-local revision register for all article routes.

Reason
A review date alone cannot explain what changed, why it changed, which source controlled or what human review remains.
Claim impact
The method now exposes publication gates and change provenance without inventing an author credential or treating internal review as legal sign-off.

Latest · Publication, privacy, correction, accessibility or use policy changedCORRECTIONS-20260826-02

Replaced the generic policy article with a versioned zero-entry correction register, correction anatomy, classifications, workflow and explicit release gates.

Reason
An honest correction policy needs to distinguish an empty register from proof of accuracy and show how a future material correction would preserve the original error.
Claim impact
No error, contact route, human owner or correction outcome was invented; public intake and publication authority remain disabled and gated.

Earlier · Publication, privacy, correction, accessibility or use policy changedCORRECTIONS-20260821-01

Established a private-preview correction policy with no submissions and a gated requirement for a human-owned public correction route.

Reason
The static preview needs a truthful correction boundary before any inbox, form or personal-data collection is authorised.
Claim impact
No correction submission capability is claimed or enabled; a public correction channel remains a pre-release gate.

Latest · Publication, privacy, correction, accessibility or use policy changedPRIVACY-20260828-03

Added a seventh data-flow record for the global research index, including its free-text boundary, transient recipient, clearing behavior and explicit absence of transport or storage.

Reason
A local-only search field still accepts reader-provided text, so the privacy ledger must state where that text exists, how long it lasts and why it should not contain secrets.
Claim impact
The zero application-record claim remains unchanged; the notice now distinguishes transient on-page query text from visible URL state and ordinary static-host requests.

Earlier · Publication, privacy, correction, accessibility or use policy changedPRIVACY-20260826-02

Replaced the generic notice with a six-flow browser, host, clipboard and external-navigation ledger plus five implementation controls, four inactive services and six release gates.

Reason
A truthful zero-collection statement must distinguish application-controlled records from browser history, requested URLs, hosting metadata and reader-selected external destinations.
Claim impact
The revision narrows the prior no-transmission wording: app code creates no visitor database, but URL and network surfaces remain visible and a production host requires separate review.

Earlier · Publication, privacy, correction, accessibility or use policy changedPRIVACY-20260821-01

Recorded the browser-only URL state, absence of analytics and absence of persistent personal-data storage in the private preview.

Reason
The publication should model data minimisation and disclose the actual local static behavior rather than a future production policy.
Claim impact
The notice describes only the inspected preview; any later data collection requires a new review and dated change entry.

Replaced the generic disclaimer with seven educational-use boundaries, six zero-capability records, three source-custody layers, a four-step research handoff and six release gates.

Reason
A premium legal-research interface needs an inspectable limit on advice, compliance, currency, source rights, affiliation and availability without pretending that a lawyer-reviewed public contract exists.

The revision creates no licence, governing-law clause, operator identity, acceptance mechanism, professional relationship or service promise; all public contractual decisions remain gated.

Reason
The new publication-wide wayfinding surface needs an explicit reproduction method and limitation instead of being implied by generic keyboard and focus claims.

Reason
A credible accessibility statement must separate app-local evidence from unverified assistive-technology, zoom, contrast, external-source and feedback-channel coverage.

Published the original transparent weighted comparison requirement alongside the existing reader-controlled research-priority method.

Reason
The editorial model must expose every value, source, weight, coverage rule, tie and missing-data state instead of leaving comparison assumptions implicit.

Publication gates

What automation can prove—and what remains human.

AUTOMATED

Coverage, references, private-preview boundaries and interface behavior.

Tests can fail on missing routes, unresolved source IDs, invalid dates, malformed URL handling and prohibited claims.

HUMAN

Legal judgment, editorial accountability, correction ownership and release authority.

These remain explicit gates. Passing local QA does not approve publication or replace qualified review.
